Why I Created

Color Relativity Fundamentals

I originally taught these fundamentals in person as a semester-long master class.

Working with students from beginners to advanced painters, I watched their work change dramatically as they progressed through the course.

But what changed wasn't only their paintings.

I watched their confidence grow.

That experience made me passionate about giving painters a strong set of tools they could rely on—not just for one painting or one subject, but for anything they wanted to paint.

I think of these fundamentals as the tools in a painter's tool belt.

Drawing, value, form, and color are not separate from painting. They are tools we use every time we pick up a brush.

Without a strong understanding of these fundamentals, painters can find themselves limited. They may know what they want their painting to do but not have the tools to get there.

My goal with Color Relativity Fundamentals is to give painters those tools—to strengthen their understanding, build their confidence, and equip them to approach anything they want to paint.
